SILO Music – Assistant (CEO & Co-founder) (US)

SILO Music is a music licensing boutique with a management, publishing, and recording arm that works with music supervisors and A&Rs in the United States and around the world. At its core, we value the music and the artists and writers we work with. Our goal is to act as a sync incubator and grow our artists and writers through music placements in television, film, trailers, commercials, video games, and all other media.

What are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate is someone who is intelligent, extremely organized and a fast learner who works hard. Someone who loves and knows music and wants to learn more about licensing and publishing in the industry. Someone with excellent communication and writing skills. More importantly, someone who wants to be the organizational lifeline within a company.

What do we need ?
  • A desire to learn all you can about what we do as a company
  • A love and knowledge of all types of music
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Extremely organized, with an ability to prioritize urgent assignments
  • Great attention to detail
  • Able to run multiple calendars (Google Calendar)
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and Google Docs
  • High level of proficiency in design suites (Adobe Creative Cloud / Canva)
  • Creative and flexible

The position would start as soon as possible for the right candidate. You are expected to work more than 40 hours per week for salary + medical assistance.

Specific tasks
  • Executes daily schedules for the CEO and across MGMT/Pub. customer base
  • Setting up Zoom or Google Hangout links
  • Keep track of today’s addresses / start times / contacts
  • The day before confirmations
  • Round trip on email logistics
Songs submitted
  • Organizes customer submitted songs into Song Space MGMT/Publishing folders
    • Download
    • markup
    • Accounting for writers
    • creation day
    • Splits
    • Allocation of songs to perspective folders
    • Transmission of submitted songs to relevant parties
    • Keep track of relevant notes regarding songs
  • Update sheet that tracks pre-released songs
Rolodex maintenance
  • Update the artist file
  • Update the songwriter/producer file
  • Help with subsequent creation of the main contact sheet
Design/Social Media
  • instagram
    • Create brand-specific posts/captions
    • Publish/maintain content calendar
    • Flag social media posts
    • High level of proficiency in design suites (Adobe Creative Cloud / Canva)
  • Assets
    • Design Unique Assets/EPs for Industry Sync Releases
    • Design posters/cards for events
    • Assist in creating content for clients
    • Assist with photo/video editing, as needed
Post Day Tasks
  • Submit songs for registration
  • Update Songspace
    • Cover
    • Release date
    • Organize in perspective folders
  • Updates to Wikipedia pages
  • Publish on social networks
  • Client playlist updates (version specific)
  • Write copy for client biographies, press releases and email correspondence
  • Note taking in meetings
  • Updated MGMT / Publisher Client packages
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
office tasks
  • Keep all office supplies in stock
  • General office cleanliness/maintenance – trash cans, cleaning surfaces, dishes, recovering studios after sessions, etc.
  • Some personal assistance work for the CEO
  • Coordinates birthday parties, client gifts, special events, SILO: get-togethers, etc.
