Emirati music icon to perform alongside star-studded lineup in Bahrain

Bahrain’s ‘Spring Of Culture’ festival is renowned for culture, art, literature and music, and for this year’s edition, Emirati music icon Hussain Al Jassmi will join a plethora of international artists and performers on stage.

Due to COVID-19 and restrictions in place, the festival has been canceled for two consecutive years and is returning for the first time since 2019 and is expected to be better than ever. Moreover, what makes “Culture Spring” more exciting for this year is the fact that this year’s Golden Jubilee theme is also in line with Bahrain’s 50th Independence Day.

The popular festival includes various types of entertainment such as dance and theater performances, live music, art exhibitions, pop-up stores, panel discussions and lectures as well as “architectural launches”.

This year, the festival will also present its first-ever event at the Al Dana Amphitheater where Hussain Al Jassmi will light up the evening by performing his greatest hits on March 4, 2022. Palestinian singer Omar Kamal will also take the stage at the Bahrain National Theater on March 10, 2022.

Bahrain’s Cultural Hall will also host a series of performances from around the world organized in partnership with the embassies of the nations of the Kingdom. The Great Arias of Opera show is from Teatro Massimo and will take audiences on a journey through their most famous works. There will also be a Qawali evening where visitors can listen to Sufi music and dance events will include traditional folk performances in Dar Al Muharraq, Dar Bin Harban and Dar Al Riffa.

HE Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and Chair of the Board of the Arab Regional Center for World Heritage, said in a statement on the upcoming event: “Through the spring festival of culture, we reaffirm the importance of cultural work. Culture is the global language we use to communicate with different peoples and is our tool to build bridges between the Kingdom of Bahrain and civilizations around the world.
